Biography	Ms. Hilgeman obtained her J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University in 2007 and her undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Boston College in 1998, including a semester at the Universitaire de Paris X in Nanterre, France. Prior to law school, Ms. Hilgeman spent several years working with refugees and immigrants at the International Institute of Boston, a regional affiliate of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI). During law school, Ms. Hilgeman gained litigation experience as a student lawyer in the Civil Practice Clinic and through trial competitions in Boston, Massachusetts as a traveling member of the Mock Trial Honor Society. Ms. Hilgeman first joined the law firm in March 2006 as a law clerk. As an Associate, Ms. Hilgeman provides litigation and strategic support to the law firm in all areas of practice. In addition to her immigration experience, Ms. Hilgeman time at the firm has allowed her to gain experience in criminal defense, civil asset forfeiture, complex multi-district litigation, commercial transactions, and issues relating to 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. Ms. Hilgeman was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in the Commonwealth of Virginia on October 17, 2007 and was admitted to the District of Columbia Bar on February 9, 2009.
